Kim Vincent-Layton

Biography

Kimberly is the lead instructional designer/educational developer in the Center for Teaching and Learning, and a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at Humboldt State University.  She has worked in higher education for 20+ years. Kimberly received her Bachelor's in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations, a Master's in Business Administration, and Certificate for Faculty Preparation in Higher Education all from Humboldt State University. She is currently ABD and working on her dissertation at the University of Indiana, Bloomington. Kimberly enjoys creating engaging learning activities supported by modern technologies, as well as facilitating faculty development efforts such as Faculty Learning Communities and course design intensives. Her research is focused on the human in learning, including the teaching practices that maximize the learning opportunities for all students across modalities. She has been the HSU Campus QLT Coordinator (online and blended learning) and enjoys working on a variety of collaborative projects across the CSU system and beyond to enhance student and faculty experiences.
