Biography

Kirk Trasborg is the Executive Director of Finance and Shared Services for the University of Pennsylvania’s central IT Unit where he leads initiatives to help drive better business decisions, make purposeful investments, and have value conversations with university leadership.  Responsibility areas include Financial Planning and Analysis, Billing and Chargebacks, Purchasing, Contracting and Vendor Management and the TBM  (Technology Business Management) practice at Penn.

Kirk is a senior finance and technology professional with an established track record of strategic management and consultation to universities and Fortune 500 companies.  He was previously Executive Director of Finance and Procurement for Global Products & Services at Laureate Education.  At Laureate he built a comprehensive organization encompassing Finance, Procurement, PMO, IT Asset Management, Risk Management and Systems Support that supported 14 schools globally, with an emphasis on improving the quality of service and creating greater transparency.  Prior to that Kirk held senior finance and technology positions at Armstrong World Industries, The Hershey Company and First Data Corporation.

Kirk is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a graduate of York College of Pennsylvania.
