Biography

Kirsten R. Butcher is Associate Professor of Instructional Design and Educational Technology in the University of Utah’s Department of Educational Psychology. Dr. Butcher's research focuses on multimedia learning and interactive technologies, particularly how digital design features can enhance learners’ high-level cognitive processes (e.g., prediction, integration, and inference) and deep comprehension outcomes. Dr. Butcher leads numerous interdisciplinary design and development projects and is a frequent author and presenter in journals/conferences on learning sciences, teacher practice, and STEM education.
