Kris Binard

Biography

Kris serves as the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Services and Student Support at Front Range Community College (FRCC) in Colorado.  FRCC is a public, two-year college that serves over 30,000 students annually in Westminster, Longmont, Fort Collins, and Brighton.  While at FRCC, she also held positions of Dean of Student Affairs and Director of Student Life/Longs Peak Student Center.  Kris has over 20 years in the Colorado Community College System and 25 years in higher education.  Kris holds a Master’s Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Colorado State University and has taught in this program since 2000. She has a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Innovation from the University of Colorado at Denver.  Her research interests include succession planning, leadership development in a community college, as well as work-life balance for student affairs professionals.

Kris currently serves as the Board Chair for the CO/WY Academic Management Institute and is a Peer Reviewer with the Higher Learning Commission.  She has served on the board of directors for the Association of Leadership Educators and the Rocky Mountain Region of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges as well as served on the Structured Pathways Commission for the American Association of Community Colleges.  Accomplishments include the FRCC President’s Award for Outstanding Contribution in 2011 and the NASPA IV West Community College Professional Award in 2012.
