Larry Bryant

Biography

Larry W. Bryant was born in Nebraska and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of a high school math teacher. He entered the United States Air Force Academy in 1971, where he was a distinguished graduate in 1975, with a double major in Math and Computer Science. His first assignment as a 2Lt in the Air Force was as a student at UCLA, receiving his MS in Computer Science in 1976. During his 21-year career in the Air Force Mr Bryant was assigned to Buckley ANGB in Aurora, CO as a communications programmer for the Defense Support Program satellite early warning system; HQ NORAD/ADCOM in the Space Based Sensor Division; USAF Academy as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science; Det 3 AF Flight Test Center in Nevada; Armed Forces Staff College in Norfolk, VA; Joint Chiefs of Staff, J-8, at the Pentagon; USAF Academy as the Director of Academic Computing. He retired in 1996 and became a civilian faculty member at the USAF Academy. He is responsible for coordinating all computer hardware, software, and network support to over 5000 Academy faculty, staff, and cadets.
