Biography

Dr. Laura Ariovich is the Executive Director of Research, Assessment, and Effectiveness at Prince George’s Community College, in Largo, MD. She came to the US as a Fulbright Scholar and earned a Ph.D. in Sociology from Northwestern University. Her higher education experience includes academic research on labor unions and work and family trajectories, program evaluation and assessment of student learning in a community college setting, and, more recently, leadership roles in institutional research and institutional effectiveness. Among her service contributions, she has volunteered as a peer reviewer for accreditation visits in the Mid-Atlantic region and is the current President Elect of the Maryland Community College Research Group (MCCRG). She has regularly shared lessons and insights from her work through publications and presentations in institutional research and assessment conferences.
