Biography
Laurie Fox has been working in, and evolving with, the information technology field for over 25 years. Since 1995, she has been working at the State University of New York College at Geneseo, one of the premier public liberal arts colleges in the Northeast. She has risen from a network analyst to a director in an environment that is often on the forefront of technology innovation and adoption. Laurie embraces fledgling technologies to change the communication channels within the college. She spearheaded the implementation of a wiki on campus to transition from static self-help documents and paper IT newsletters to greener, community-developing digital methods. She also uses social media as a method to communicate IT information and to report outages to our diverse community. Laurie is also involved in SIGUCCS, where she is currently Past Chair of the Executive Board. Her SIGUCCS conference participation includes conference chair, program co-chair, social networking coordinator, and presenter. Previous presentation topics include campus communication, social networking, time management and personal productivity, and transforming teaching and learning spaces.
