Lawrence Williams

Biography

In his role as the Director of the Minority Serving - Cyberinfrastructure Consortium (MS-CC), Lawrence is responsible for leading program activities for the MS-CC while collaborating with the MS-CC leadership council and Internet2 leadership to develop a sustainability and strategic plan for the MS-CC. Additionally, Lawrence serves in an integral role working with the Principal Investigator to ensure the associated program deliverables under the MS-CC Center of Excellence Demonstration Pilot award funded by the National Science Foundation achieve outcomes and develop programs as outlined in the NSF CoE Demo Pilot Award.

Lawrence Williams is an experienced IT Security consultant with extensive Department of Defense experience, a Colonel in the United States Army with 22 years of service, a former Department of the Army civilian in IT and cybersecurity, and a former federal contractor at the Army Materiel Command. He has over 15 years of experience working with the Department of Defense in a cybersecurity/IT context. Lawrence’s most recent Information Security experience includes cyber planner for the Department of Defense Joint Staff, Program Management Lead for NATO Cyber Capability Development, Information Assurance Engineer, and Cloud Authorization Engineer.
