Leo de Sousa, Manager, Business Application Services, British Columbia Institute of Technology
Leo leads a team of 20 IT professionals who deliver applications services to the BCIT Community. His current position includes overall responsibility for the delivery of all enterprise software application services for BCIT.
Leo had responsibility and led the BCIT Enterprise Architecture Strategic Practice at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, since 2004. He led a team of 29 IT professionals as the Director of Information Technology at the American University of Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates from 2012 to 2014.
Under his guidance, EA practices are integrated into the culture of the IT Services team and community at BCIT. Linking EA to Project Management and Change Management allows IT Services to guide, consult and approve technology decisions that support the strategy of BCIT. In 2006, Sungard Higher Education Innovation Services invited Leo as a co-developer and collaborative partner to create an enterprise architecture based, UDC Strategy and Assessment Service. Leo speaks regularly on the topic of Enterprise Architecture in Higher Education and has presented as conferences in Australia (CAUDIT), Canada (AAHEIT and HEITBC) and the United States.
