Leona Barratt

Biography

Leona has been with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln since August of 1986. Her duties include assisting faculty with, continually increasing and changing, technology tools to optimize their online instruction. She helps to coordinate technology training on various applications for faculty and staff on cutting edge tools to support learning technologies that will enhance instruction in academics and incorporate technology into learning.

She supports and teaches applications such as  Canvas, Zoom conferencing software, VidGrid, Photoshop, and several more.

Leona conducts hands-on workshops, tier two ticket support, conducts training webinars with out-state campuses, and helps with beta testing Canvas software upgrades and LTI applications on their test server. 

She started her own business in Lincoln in 1999 creating virtual realty photography for local real estate companies and continues to run the business on the side today.

Leona has been a guest speaker at several conferences including Blackboard World 2011 and 2012.

In 2019 Leona won the "Technology in Excellance" award which recognized the exemplary performance of an individual within ITS staff across all campuses at the University of Nebraska.
