Lynn Ray

Biography

Dr. Lynn Ray advises the federal government on cyber security at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. He has been an adjunct associate professor teaching information systems and cyber security topics for nearly 20 years at UMUC. He has taught in both Asian and US divisions during this time. He also teaches at York College of PA, Saint Leo University and University of Maine. He has been a Director, Chief Information Officer and Chief Information Security Officer in government and industry. Lynn retired from the US Air Force after nearly 27 years as both enlisted and officer. Lynn served on the program advisory committee at Herzing International University. He holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certifications. His years of experience and teaching make him an expert in the field of information systems and computer security. He has been a lectured at conferences to include EDUCAUSE. Lynn holds a BS in Electrical Engineering, MBA and Doctorate of Computer Science with an emphasis in security. His research interests include network security, software security, information assurance as well as security policy and guidance. Lynn has published nearly 10 articles dealing with intrusion detection information security and network security.
