Luke VanWingerden serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for TriCounty Technical College in Pendleton, South Carolina. Luke holds an MBA from the University of South Carolina and a bachelor’s in Communication Studies from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
Luke has over 15 years of experience serving within higher education information technology where he has held various roles ranging from project and process management, business relationship management as well as leadership and functional management. In each role, Luke has sought to embody the role he believes information technology should fulfill within higher education, “focused on fostering environments that enable others to ENGAGE, CONNECT and EDUCATE. Information Technology in higher education exists not for itself but to partner with and facilitate educational experiences and business efficiencies.”
Luke has taught as an adjunct instructor at the University of South Carolina Upstate School of Business. Luke is a member of EDUCAUSE and the South Carolina Information Technology Directors Association.
Currently, Luke is serving on the Educause Young Professionals Advisory committee.
