Lynell Williams

Biography

Lynell Williams was founding Director of the SMART Learning Commons at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, a key initiative in undergraduate academic support within the U's strategic repositioning plan. Lynell was national president of the Association for the Tutoring Profession 2006-07, has served as a reviewer for the College Reading and Learning Association's International Tutor Training Program Certification, and has edited chapters for publications by the National College Learning Center Association. She holds a BA in Spanish and MA in Linguistics from Idaho State University and a post-Master's certificate in Hispanic Studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. She is the mother of three brilliant children.

One of Lynell's recent projects was the development of self-paced online modules for university undergraduates addressing topics that reside at the intersection between academic health and mental health. Effective U garnered over 10,000 pageviews by 1500+ users in first three months.
