Biography
Margaret Massey is the Vice President of Information Technology and CIO of Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama. Previously Dr. Massey served as the Dean of the School of Extended Learning and CIO at Norfolk State University in Norfolk and also as the Vice President for Technology and Chief Information Officer at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Florida. She has a B.S. from Auburn University, three Masters Degrees, one in Business and one in Education, from Florida International University in Miami and one in Library and Information Science from Florida State University; is a graduate of Harvard University's MDP, IEM and Library Administration Programs; Villanova University's Project Management Program; and has a Ph.D. from Norfolk State University. Mrs. Massey has more than thirty years of experience in information technology. She served for seventeen years at Miami-Dade College in technology administration positions. She was President of the Florida Association of Community Colleges and has more than fifteen years teaching computers, operations management, and finance at the Bachelors and Masters level. She has also served as senior consultant for major universities in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and in South Africa on information technology in higher education. She has served on many Educause Committees and has received numerous awards including a Leadership in Technology Award from the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Foundation. She is a past member of the Florida State University College of Communication and Information (CCI) Leadership Board and is currently Chair of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) CIO Mentoring Program. She is married to Dr. Larry L. Massey, has two children, and four grandchildren.
