Margaret Kasimatis has been at Loyola Marymount University for ten years and currently serves as Associate Provost for Strategic Planning and Educational Effectiveness, with a tenured faculty appointment in the Department of Educational Leadership. Prior to LMU she served in academic administration at Harvey Mudd College and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. Kasimatis earned her B.A. in Psychology from Loyola Marymount University and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Social Psychology from Purdue University. Her recent scholarly work has focused strategic planning and other aspects of culture change within universities. She has also been actively involved in regional accreditation, including six years of service on the WASC Senior College and University Commission. Reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and Provost, Kasimatis provides leadership in the areas of academic program planning and review, strategic planning, academic policy, faculty development and evaluation related to teaching effectiveness, assessment of student learning, organizational learning, and continuing education programs.
