Marilyn Delmont

Biography

Marilyn Delmont was appointed by Chancellor Dan Klaich to serve as interim vice chancellor for information technology. Previously, she served as associate vice chancellor for information technology for the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE). Delmont has a solid background in the technology industry with many years managing IT organizations and has received national recognition for her leadership roles and award winning project management strategies in implementing large complex ERP projects, in both the private and public sector. She received the prestigious CIO 100 Awards. Under her administration organizations and individuals have received the Eric Jennet Project Management Institute Award and the Digital Cities Awards. While at Minnesota State University, the Academic Affairs and the ITS division received the Campus Technology and Innovation Award for collaboration and development of an integrated online Curriculum Design System. Prior to joining the NSHE, Delmont served as vice president and CIO of information technology at Minnesota State University where she was responsible for all administrative and academic technology vision, strategic leadership and the management of the Information Technology Services division. Delmont became the first Chief Information Officer for the City of Chandler, Arizona where she implemented numerous 24 hour online solutions to residents and businesses for improving city government services. In addition she co-founded the Arizona Municipal CIO Council. Throughout her career she has managed multi-million dollar budgets, over a billion dollars in assets and inventory items, and has held senior and key management positions at Amoco Research Corporation, Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, Emory University, the Jimmy Carter Presidential Center, Spelman College, the University of Maryland Hospital System, and the Georgia Lottery Corporation. Ms. Delmont has served on numerous boards and committees. She was also appointed by Arizona Governor Napolitano to serve on the Board of Dental Examiners. Ms. Delmont holds a Bachelor of Science degree in management information systems and a Master of public administration degree. She is currently a doctoral candidate in the Workforce Development and Organizational Leadership program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
