Mark Askren is an Executive Leadership Coach for MOR Associates. His work involves supporting the professional development of CIOs and other IT professionals within Higher Education.
He formerly served as a Senior Advisor to the President of the University of Nebraska. During his career at Nebraska he held the roles of Vice President Information Technology & CIO for the University of Nebraska system for three years, and Vice Chancellor & CIO for the Lincoln campus for ten years. He served on the Big Ten Academic Alliance CIO group and was also a member of the RUCC research university CIO community.
His prior experience includes serving as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Administrative Computing Services at the University of California Irvine, where he was also a member of the University of California’s Information Technology Leadership Council. His background also includes serving as Assistant Vice President for Application Development and Data Management at the University of Illinois, and as Assistant Dean for Information Technology at the UC San Diego School of Medicine.
