Mark Foster

Biography

Mark is a media specialist at the University of New South Wales who has travelled the path from sprockets to browser in the creation and distribution of media content. He manages a team of media and interactive media developers who are responsible for the effective pedagogical integration of media in UNSW curricula and the development of systems to support media use across the campus. UNSW has developed its own holistic media management and delivery system, UNSWTV (www.tv.unsw.edu.au), which publishes to the main UNSWTV portal and out to iTunesU and the University's 2 YouTube channels. The system also deals with copyright issues and handles media (video and audio) and PDFs. All public media is embeddable. UNSWTV also accommodates password restricted course material. Mark's principal research interests focus on the ever evolving media production and delivery landscape and its impact on higher education. He is also interested in digital songlines and the myriad pathways of internet connectivity.
