"Take a Look Around": Reflections on EDUCAUSE 2018

Mark Roman serves as the Chief Information Officer for Simon Fraser University (SFU). He is also Past President of CUCCIO, the Canadian University Council of CIOs. Prior to SFU, Mark served as AVP and CIO at the University of Saskatchewan (UofS). He has been Chair of the Board of Saskatchewan Research Network (SRNET), and Chair of the Board of BCNET. Before UofS, Mark owned 22over7, a higher education IT management consulting organization, and was previously CIO at the University of Victoria where he led the IT transformation. He holds a B.Math (Computer Science) from the University of Waterloo, an MBA (Finance) from Queen's University, and is a Project Management Professional (PMP). Mark is married with three children and is an occasional author writing about management and IT.
