Biography

Mary Ellen K. Davis is executive director of the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), the higher education association for librarians that is dedicated to advancing learning and transforming scholarship. She represents more than 10,000 members to the higher education community. Under her leadership, ACRL has advanced student learning and information literacy initiatives, including major research on how academic libraries contribute to student success. She has ensured funding to provide open access to C&RL, ACRL’s premier research journal, expanded professional development opportunities, and supported the development of important new standards and guidelines for the profession. Davis has an MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MA from Central Michigan University.
