Moving faculty and staff to Gmail and Google Calendar required quickly training IT professionals across campus to support the new systems — which were not a priority among their other pressing concerns.
Matthew is the Educational Technology Coordinator for the Office of Arts & Sciences Information Services at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Matthew's commitment to IT in higher education goes back to the positions he held as an undergraduate at UNC Chapel Hill. After graduating Matthew spent ten years working in IT at UNC before making the transition to educational technology at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. After successfully managing several multi-year projects there he returned to his home institution of UNC Chapel Hill where he works in a similar capacity
He holds a Masters in Information Science from UNC Chapel Hill where he focused on IT organizational management, games and learning, digital humanities, and information organization.
Matthew is a 2016 graduate of the leadership education development (ULEAD) program at UNC, a prestigious program for skilled and motivated leaders to further develop themselves.
