Biography

Matt Smith is an IT Business Relationship Management professional in higher education, focused on aligning technology initiatives with institutional strategy. At the University of Notre Dame, he partners with stakeholders to translate complex needs into actionable solutions across the Research and Student & Academic IT portfolios.

With experience in enterprise portfolio and project management, Matt brings a structured approach to governance, prioritization, and service delivery. He holds a Master’s in IT Management, is PMP-certified, Prosci-trained, and a certified Birkman Signature Consultant.

Matt has contributed to multiple professional and academic communities, having served as VP of Education and Certification for PMI Michiana, been a mentor and speaker, facilitated national leadership programs with Sigma Pi Fraternity, and taught courses at multiple institutions as an adjunct instructor in both IT and first-year seminar programs.
