Biography
Matthew "Matt" Thornton currently serves as the National Business Development Manager for IBM, where he plays a significant role in strategic planning, business development, and industry support for the higher education business unit. Prior to joining IBM, Matt was a Practice Director at Oracle responsible for their higher education consulting division. Matt was also the President of Free and Thornton, LLC a national consulting organization focused on implementing PeopleSoft products within the higher education industry. Mr. Thornton also served as a university administrator at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. Matt is married to his lovely wife Emily and enjoys spending time with his three children (Elyza, Chloe, Matthew II) at their home located in Dallas, Texas.
