Maura Woods

Biography

Maura joined St. John’s University originally in 1975 and started a second term in 1995 and is currently Associate Vice President. In this role she oversees the operations and initiatives of the various Information Technology teams reporting to CIO, Joseph Tufano. Maura has held various IT positions over the years including developer, trainer, process re-engineer, project management and applications development management. Maura has been responsible for all administrative applications for the University which include the ERP SunGard Banner® system and managed the projects to implement imaging and workflow in the Enrollment Management, Business Affairs and Institutional Advancement offices leveraging existing technology and resources. Maura has been a presenter at major conferences for higher education technology. In 2008, Maura submitted a proposal and the University was selected for a CIO-100 Award based on their efforts in business process redesign and leveraging technology. Maura is a 30+ year veteran of the Information Technology industry including experience in banking, consulting, training and higher education.
