Md. Saifur Rahman
Biography
Md. Saifur Rahman is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics and Data Science at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth). He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science, with a focus on Big Data, Data Science, and Machine Learning, from the University of North Dakota. He also holds a master’s degree in Computer Science from the same institution. At UTHealth, Dr. Rahman teaches graduate-level courses in biostatistics and data science and is actively involved in mentoring and training the next generation of biostatisticians and data scientists. His teaching and research interests focus on the development and application of innovative machine learning models and computational algorithms to extract meaningful insights from large-scale datasets. His contributions to education have been recognized with the Teaching Innovation Award for the academic year 2024–2025 from the UTHealth Houston School of Public Health's Office of Instructional Design.
Dr. Rahman is committed to advancing the field of biostatistics through teaching, research, and mentorship, preparing the next generation of data scientists to address real-world challenges in healthcare, public health, and beyond.
