Biography
Meagan R. West is a higher education leader with more than 20 years of experience in leadership development, employee engagement, training, student success, and organizational learning. She currently serves as the Manager of Training & Development in the Employee Success Center at the University of Louisville, where she leads the institution's employee learning and development strategy, oversees leadership and professional development initiatives, and creates opportunities that support employee growth, engagement, and success.
Throughout her career, Meagan has developed and facilitated innovative learning experiences that empower individuals, teams, and leaders to reach their full potential. Her expertise includes leadership development, organizational training, strengths-based coaching, employee engagement, strategic communication, event planning, and program management. She has successfully designed and led university-wide conferences, leadership institutes, coaching circles, workshops, and employee development programs serving faculty, staff, and administrators.
Meagan is a certified Gallup CliftonStrengths Coach, a Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Certified Practitioner, and an Appreciation at Work Facilitator. She frequently incorporates these frameworks into coaching, team development, and leadership programs to help individuals better understand their strengths, communication styles, motivations, and workplace relationships. Her facilitation approach is engaging, practical, and focused on helping people and organizations thrive.
Prior to her current role, Meagan served in leadership and student success positions at both the University of Louisville and The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she managed first-year experience initiatives, supervised peer mentor programs, advised students, and coordinated large-scale leadership and transition programming.
Meagan holds a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, and a Certificate in Human Resource Leadership from the University of Louisville. She remains actively involved in professional organizations and university initiatives that advance leadership, belonging, employee development, and organizational excellence.
