Melanie Hoag

Biography

Instructional Technology & Design at Southwestern University in our Center for Teaching, Learning & Scholarship. Past experiences include software development for academic and course needs at Drexel University and as contractor, certified technical trainer for Novell services, manager of server systems at Texas Comptroller, and author/co-author of several technical books. In my current position at Southwestern, I collaborate with faculty and we explore and try out "techy things" to bring new experiences to students and broaden the scope of the learning environment. I also manage our SU Makerspaces and student workers who support people using the studios and assist with other related projects. I like to envision and think outside the box, mix seemingly disparate interests and expertise's, and explore and play with new "technologies".
