Biography

Mexican pediatrician and medical educator. Worked as Clinical research fellow in the Laboratory of Human Nutrition and Metabolism, MIT, USA. Master in Health Professions Education, University of Illinois at Chicago, Doctor in Educational Sciences, National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), Mexico City. Coordinator of the Master in Health Sciences Education program at UNAM. Author and coauthor of 120 peer reviewed publications related to pediatrics, critical care, human nutrition and metabolism, medical education (resident as teacher, evidence-based medicine, educational assessment, competency-based education), medical informatics. Editor and author of nine books and 45 book chapters. Associate Editor of Advances in Health Sciences Education; Editor-in-Chief of the Mexican journal Investigación en Educación Médica. Member of several academic organizations: American Academy of Pediatrics, Mexico National Academy of Medicine, Mexican Academy of Pediatrics, National Council of Measurement in Education, Mexican Council of Education Research, among others. Member-At-Large, National Board of Medical Examiners, USA.
