Miary has worked in educational institutions for more than 18 years. He has dedicated the last 11 years to work in the realm of instructional technology where his passion lies. He has been heavily involved in campus wide solutions deployment and collaborated with both administrative and academic entities in order to provide innovative campus technology solutions. He has the unique advantage of having worked on both sides of the aisle, as a College instructor teaching computer sciences courses for 4 years and as a University administrator serving as an enterprise excellence strategist, educational systems architect, and instructional technologist for 11 years. He has worked with curriculum delivery solutions using relevant technology and subscribe to the philosophy that there is no such thing as an IT project, there are only business projects with an IT component. He has been involved with campus Web application development, redundant systems architecture, Web design strategy, IT Leadership and Strategy, Lecture Capture System, Course Management System, Video Conferencing Implementation Strategy, Mobile Application development and strategy, Innovation in teaching and learning, gamified learning solutions, 3D technologies as an integral part of the curriculum, as well as disruption and innovation in education. He collaborates very closely with faculty and the academic leadership to provide technological support, to promote innovative ideas, and to build a vision towards creating a future ready institution. Also, he conducted nationwide Webinars on varied topics such as campus wide lecture capture solution and other technology solutions to enhance teaching and learning.Miary has a Masters degree in Humanities, a Masters Degree in Software Engineering, and an EDD with an emphasis on leveraging technology for higher education teaching and learning. His dissertation focused on the topic of gamification used as a pedagogical tool to assist with student success through engagement.
