Mike Roy

Biography

Since 2008, Michael Roy has served as the L. Douglas and Laura J. Meredith Dean of Library and Information Services and Chief Information Officer at Middlebury College. Previously, he served as Vice President for Library and Information Services at Kenyon College, and as Director of Academic Computing Services & Digital Library Projects at Wesleyan University. With a BA in Philosophy from Dartmouth College and an MA in English and American Literature from Duke University, Roy has spent his professional life working on ways to use technology, media, and library services to advance the liberal arts in particular, and the generation, publication, and preservation of knowledge more generally. He has served on the boards of the National Institute for Technology and Liberal Education and Anvil Academic. He is a co-founding editor of Academic Commons.
