Mike Furlough is the assistant dean for scholarly communications and co-director of the Office of Digital Scholarly Publishing at the Penn State University Libraries. He is responsible for developing and leading the library's scholarly communications program, including the departments of Digitization and Preservation and Scholarly Communications Services. Through the Office of Digital Scholarly Publishing he collaborates with Penn State Press to initiate services, programs leading to electronically distributed peer-reviewed publications. Previously Mike served as Director of Digital Research and Instructional Services at the University of Virginia Library. Mike is active in the American Library Association, and the Digital Library Federation in addition to Educause, and attended the 2003 Frye Institute at Emory University.
