Biography
Michael Thaxter is a Desktop Support Specialist at the State University of New York, Stony Brook University. There he is one of the integral members of the Division of Information Technology (DoIT) support staff, maintaining the nearly 3000-4000 PC and MacIntosh computers on the West Campus network, from harmful viral/security attacks and other hardware/software/user related issues. Primary duties include all aspects of computer support, from setting up, transferring and providing technical assistance to users. Michael is in charge of maintining a runnig list of machines on the Campus and providing current demographics of operating systems vulnerable to attacks from hackers, trojans, and viruses. Michael recieved his B.S. in Computer Science from Dowling College.
