Mike Kennedy
Biography
As Deputy Chief Information Officer at UC Riverside, Mike is instrumental in driving digital transformation, computing research, data governance, and strategy. He holds a pivotal role in aligning the IT vision and strategy with the university's mission—focused on research, teaching, and public service. Leading a robust team of over 150 Information Technology Solutions (ITS) staff, Mike also provides direct leadership to the research computing and data & analytics teams.
Mike believes in the transformative power of diversity in technology. He embodies this belief in his daily work through inclusive team-building, mentoring IT staff, and offering internships to those eager to grow in their IT careers. His experience across all IT functions has equipped him with resilient leadership skills and a keen ability to build campus-wide partnerships. Together, these skills enable him to successfully execute campus-wide initiatives, including enterprise data strategy, research computing strategy, hybrid cloud adoption, and AI strategy development.
