Biography
Please note: My two co-presenters may not be available on the date. But I will be presenting a short video which will include them. So, if possible, they should be included in the bio, and this bio, in fact, covers us all. Thanks. Michael Mirabito
Terry O'Brien is Marywood University's MIS Director. He plans, organizes and supervises all MIS activities, including budgets. Terry also oversees university hardware and software purchases, administrative computing functions, programming and the university's technology inventory.
Tony Spinillo is Marywood's Network Services Director. He is in charge of campus networking activities. Tony's department also installs and maintains all campus computers and covers network security issues.
Michael Mirabito is a professor in the Communications Arts department and supervises Marywood's academic information units. These are: Distance Education & E-Learning, Instructional Technology Services, the Library and Academic Computing. He also wrote a new communications technology book, the fifth edition of which will be published this Spring.
All three individuals, with their respective Vice Presidents, oversee Marywood's information technology infrastructure. The tasks range from budget analysis to developing a computer replacement plan to updating computer use policies. They also work in a collaborative environment since academic and administrative computing functions have been integrated. This complements the integration of the academic information units.
