Mike Doherty

Biography

Michael Doherty is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of the Pacific. In the 1980s he developed control systems and training simulators for General Electric, where he migrated from hardware design into software development. He received graduate degrees in computer science in the 90s, with a specialization in object database systems. He is currently responsible for the Simulation and Games Track in Computer Science, teaching courses in Computer Simulation, Computer Game Technology, Database Management Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Application Programming. Doherty is currently leading the planning committee for Pacific’s proposed Center for Digital Media and Arts.
