Mohammad Ayati

Biography

Mohammad B. Ayati, Ph.D. is a Professor of Information Systems at California State University, Los Angeles. He started his professional work as a field mechanical engineer and a project manager in the steel industry. He also spent a year in the then USSR for training as a chief engineer for the assembly of mechanical equipment. He received an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Engineering Systems with an emphasis on Operations Management and Information Systems. During his Ph.D. program, he worked for the NASA 'Future Aviation Fuels' project. Later, he worked as a Senior Information Systems Analyst for Systems Magnetic Company in Anaheim, California. Since 1982, when he joined CSULA, his main focus has been in Management Information Systems. His areas of teaching, consulting, and research interests have been in Business Process Reengineering, Decision Support Systems, Expert Systems, Systems Analysis and Design, Database Design, Computer Architecture, and Application Development on a variety of platforms.
