Farhan Zahid

Biography

I help organizations strategically scale and transform their internal audit, cyber and enterprise risk management departments to create a strong foundation for sustainable growth. I am leader in Deloitte's IA practice, where I aim to leverage risk management as an enabler for success. Having developed a career across the U.S. and United Kingdom since 2005, I thrive in building IA and risk management strategies alongside business leadership, and driving stakeholder value and interest. I focus on not only providing value through audit delivery, but also using predictive risk analytics to identify opportunities for organizations relating to strategic and emerging risks. I routinely present to Executive Boards and Audit Committees on emerging risk and areas for improvement, while also partnering with management to strengthen control environments. My experience includes areas such as financial reporting/Sarbanes Oxley (both pre- and post-IPO), business operations, regulatory compliance, analytics, project management, IT (cyber-security, ERP, big data, cloud, capacity planning, automation and network infrastructure), cost reduction, healthcare and clinical operations, media production. Prior Deloitte, I worked in the healthcare profession as a nurse in both the medical and psychiatric fields. I am also a qualified chartered accountant and a trained executive lab facilitator. I frequently deliver industry and IA sessions at IIA, ISACA, and AHIA events. I am passionate about leadership, purpose, mentorship, equality and making an impact both through my work and through volunteering in my community.
