Nathan Sorensen

Biography

Nathan Sorensen, MBA, RDN, serves as the Director of Government Contracts at the Midwestern Higher Education Compact (MHEC). In this capacity, Nathan leads transformative procurement strategies that span across the state, local, education, and federal sectors, overseeing the administration, negotiation, and lifecycle management of multi-billion dollar technology contracts. His leadership has directly contributed to over $4 billion in technology investments, benefiting K-12 schools, higher education institutions, government agencies, and non-profit organizations.

Nathan is renowned for fostering collaborative partnerships across sectors, driving cost savings, and optimizing contract compliance through data-driven insights and innovative procurement strategies. His work ensures that MHEC’s contracts are accessible to member states and partner organizations, including the New England Board of Higher Education (NEBHE), the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB), and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). With his combined expertise in business administration and nutrition, Nathan brings a unique and holistic approach to public sector procurement and contract management.
