Biography
Ms. Norma Jean Brand holds an A.A.S. in Technical Communications and an A.A. from Houston Community College and is pursuing a bachelors in Psychology, with specialization in Special Education and Adult Learners, and Teacher Certification. Currently employed as a Sr. Lab Assistant assigned to the DSSO as the Assistive Technology Specialist at Houston Community College System, Northwest College, Ms. Brand has worked for HCCS-NW since 1996 in several capacities in technical support, and faculty, staff and student training. Over the course of twenty years, Ms. Brand has provided consultation and training in the use of computers and software in both public and private sectors; and the purchase of computers, software, and special equipment for those with disabilities. She has presented on numerous occasions regarding the use of special equipment, various software packages, and computer technology as tools for those with disabilities.
