Biography

Helping to make the world a better place by connecting good people is my personal passion. I believe in doing as much good for others as possible—the rest takes care of itself.

My professional passion is to bring together smart people to solve big problems through my company, Optimal Campus Consulting, a strategy and IT consulting company from Boston, Massachusetts that specializes in Higher Ed but also works in other industries.

Let’s talk about your technology challenges. We’ll see if we can help you with our menu of technology consulting solutions tailored specifically to your needs.  And if we cannot, then maybe I can connect you to someone who can.

In addition to running a company, I love to stay involved "on the ground" helping to run projects.

Currently, I am managing a large implementation of the new Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)  at a large research university in Boston. Previously, I managed two implementations of the Canvas LMS and a Research Administration software implementation. I have managed projects involving software development, vendor solutions, data warehouses, business intelligence, network infrastructure, Enterprise Resource Planning, and internet technologies. I have done this within corporate, consulting, academic, and small business environments, including Harvard, Accenture, Boston College, and Northeastern University.

A social entrepreneur, IT project leader, and avid traveler, I promote mentorship for college students internationally. I have sponsored and mentored at Startup Weekend events at UMass, Dartmouth, which help inspire students to pursue their entrepreneurial ideas to fruition. I also provide mentorship for start-up companies as part of the IDEA incubator at Northeastern University, as an advisor to BGI, a global startup incubator headquartered in Portugal in collaboration with MIT, and as an advisor to the government of the Azores. I am also an advisor to the Business Innovation and Research Center at UMass, which focuses on economic development in Southeastern MA.

I was inducted into the Azores Prestige network, an organization that brings together professionals of Azorean descent to assist the economy of the Azores. I also received the Volunteer Service Award from the UMass, Dartmouth's 44th Annual Alumni Awards.
