Biography
Pam Christman joined Rhode Island College in 2012 and is currently the college's Assistant Vice President for Information Services. In her role as AVP for Information Services, she provides leadership, direction and vision for academic and administrative computing systems, desktop computing and help desk services, network services and telecommunications services. She works collaboratively with a broad range of college constituents to ensure that the campus-wide information technology environment supports the college’s core mission.
Prior to joining RIC, Ms. Christman served as Chief Operating Officer for OSHEAN, Inc., providing innovative Internet-based technology solutions to Rhode Island’s universities, hospitals, government agencies, K-12 schools, public libraries, municipalities and other non-profit organizations. During her tenure at OSHEAN, she was responsible for the implementation of a federal broadband stimulus grant to connect anchor institutions to a statewide fiber project.
Ms. Christman has over twenty-five years' experience managing and providing application, Internet, and user services. She has been responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, human resources, member services, marketing and public relations, project management, contract negotiation, and financial and technical operations at such institutions and agencies as RINET, Inc., the University of Rhode Island, the Maine Department of Labor, Oregon State University, and the Oregon University System.
