Pat McClary

Biography

Patricia McClary is Associate University Counsel at Cornell. One of her areas of expertise is computer law. She has handled cases involving the application of first amendment, copyright, criminal, privacy and defamation law in the digital environment. She negotiates licenses and agreements for the University to both acquire and market intellectual property. Patricia has also advised on the development of University policies on computer abuse, responsible use of electronic communications and data access. She has recently been providing counsel on legal issues presented by distance learning and the recent changes to the copyright law.

Patricia is a graduate with honors of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. Prior to joining Cornell, she spent three years with the Chadborne & Parke law firm in Washington, D.C. practicing in the areas of litigation and communications law as well as doing volunteer work for the Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts.
