Paul Hobson is the Director of Enterprise Architecture for The University of British Columbia. His role encompasses supporting technology-supported innovation in developing new business capabilities that may be leveraged across the diverse campus groups. Paul's diverse background includes spells working across a range of sectors, including commercial, financial and not-for-profit, but his main experience is rooted in Research and Higher Education Administration. Prior to his current position at UBC, Paul spent 6 years at Cardiff University where he worked on the wholesale transformation of their IT Environment and worked as part of a pioneering group, led by the JISC, on the introduction of Enterprise Architecture for Higher Education at a national level. His research background is in Earth Observation and Environmental Modelling where he was engaged in global environmental modelling and data analysis for NASA and CNES Space Agency earth observation missions.
