Peggy Holzweiss
Biography
Peggy C. Holzweiss (aka Dr. H) is a Professor of Higher Education Administration at Sam Houston State University, earning her doctorate from Texas A&M University. Before joining the faculty, she spent 18 lively years navigating the twists and turns of campus life as a full-time administrator and part-time instructor. These days, Dr. H is known for turning online courses into playgrounds of possibility with unexpected assignments, quirky course themes, and creative ways to connect. Her teaching techniques have been published in open-access instructional books from Professors at Play. And she’s received a few moments in the spotlight including being named a Regents Teacher by the Texas State University System, and receiving an international Catalyst Award in Teaching and Learning from Anthology, Inc., SAAHE Educator of the Year award from her alma mater, and a Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching from her institution’s College of Education. Her research includes the topics of online learners and the scholarship of teaching and learning.
