Pete Bucklin

Biography

Pete D. Bucklin – Pete has spoken at the Big Ten Housing Conference, Statewide iPhone Conference, Statewide IT Conference, ACUTA National Conference, EduCause National Conference, Campus Technology National Conference and Pharos National Conference. As Manager for Leveraged Services; Pete is charged with delivering new service platforms that dramatically improve efficiencies and reduce cost while leveraging new and existing resources. These platforms include virtual technologies, device management, printing, server management, and security solutions. This suite of services eliminates redundancies and brings greater efficiencies to the new computing model at Indiana University. Pete holds a B.A. in Accounting and Computer Information Systems, and past positions include Director of Teaching & Learning Environments and Director of Technology for the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University. While at the School of Informatics and Computing Pete provided the strategic direction for the integration of new and innovative technologies into classrooms and helped develop the strategic direction for the school’s distance education initiatives which are deeply rooted with other CIC (Committee on Institutional Cooperation) member universities. He has done extensive work in the design and development of new classrooms and established a collaborative research partnership with the world’s leading Furniture Company. Pete is also a military veteran who spent 10 years in the Air Force. He provides consulting services in the medical industry and over the past 10 years has been involved in numerous electronic medical record installations and medical facility construction projects. He is also an active participant in business development for the local community, and is a restaurant owner himself.
