Peter Murray is the Assistant Director for Technology Services Development at LYRASIS, a not-for-profit, member-driver consortium of libraries. Peter is a technologist with a librarian background and a keen sense of how to apply the right solution to an issue. In his blog, the Disruptive Library Technology Jester, he seeks to stretch -- if not outright break -- the boundaries of how libraries think about the storage, preservation, and delivery of the information under their stewardship. With training in the field of systems analysis, he is able to translate between librarian jargon and computing/networking jargon to bring the two worlds together. Current interests involve digital object repositories, privacy, distributed authentication/authorization systems, and JPEG 2000. Peter holds a master of library and information science degree from Simmons College and a bachelor of science degree in systems analysis from Miami University.
