Peter Jorgensen


Peter Jörgensen is the founding Director of Academic and Research Technologies for the College of Information (now College of Communication & Information) at Florida State University. The College has one of the nation's top Library schools and is ranked number one in youth services. Dr. Jörgensen earned his PhD in Communication from the School of Informatics at the University at Buffalo, He has over twenty years experience in academic computing support and holds a Master's degree in Information Resources Management from Syracuse University and a BS in Forest Zoology from SUNY. As head of the CIT Advanced Technology Skunkworks at the University at Buffalo Peter and his colleague, James Whitlock, pioneered IP-based video conferencing use in the classroom. Peter has also taught extensively in library science programs at both UB and FSU.
