Peter O'Rourke

Biography

An IT professional for over thirty years, my experience spans Mainframe to Cloud, private and public sectors, financial services, civil engineering, the automotive industry, local and central government, and the education sector; from primary through to Higher Education. I combine my IT experience and commercial understanding with a passion for enabling organisations and their people to drive their service delivery functions along clearly focused business outcomes, I have a reputation for providing excellent insight, aligned to strategic aims. I have talent for building relationships across diverse partner, user, management and subject matter expert groups, whilst retaining a clear focus on desired outcomes. Most recently I delivered the Fujitsu Intel Innovation Hub at University Campus Suffolk. Working with academic colleagues and international technology giants Fujitsu and Intel, the Innovation Hub is inspiring collaborations across the further and higher education sector. Outside of work I am a keen amateur photographer and a frustrated Liverpool FC supporter; although at times the words keen and frustrated are considered interchangeable. I attempt to maintain my heritage credentials with membership of English Heritage and National Trust, though this is somewhat damaged by my children's insistence that heritage must include zip wires or roller coasters.
