Biography

Hello! I am an Instructional Designer at the Center for Teaching Innovation at Cornell University.

I value that I get to work on a team of designers to best support the needs of faculty to create meaningful learning experiences for students. My passion lies with humanizing the learning environment by incorporating elements of empathy, vulnerability and trust into the experience to fuel connection and build community. Additionaly, I am interested in democratizing the learning experience where students get to make decisions, share ownership, and have a proactive stake in the success of the learning.

Prior to joining the CTI, I worked on the instructional design team at eCornell designing and developing online certificates with Cornell faculty and training them to launch courses for their executive master’s programs. As a faculty member myself for eight years at Wells and Ithaca Colleges, I developed a passion for implementing several learner-centered teaching approaches and utilized various tools and strategies for her online, hybrid, and face-to-face teaching experiences.

I currently hold a master and bachelor of science degrees in health education from Ithaca College and, more recently, my graduate certificate in instructional systems technology from Indiana University and a professional certificate from Cornell University in project management.
