Biography
Rachel Scherer leads data and analytics portfolio, platform, and practice at Blackboard, and serves the standards community in her role as co-chair for IMS Global’s Caliper Analytics® specification steering committee. She is privileged to spend the majority of any given day collaborating globally with academics, developers, and researchers, on projects ranging across technology, policy, and standards development and adoption. Through involvement in these communities, she has cultivated a broad and current perspective on practices, needs, and market trends in the application of Higher Education data.
Prior to her current roles, Rachel spent the majority of her career in both higher education and K12. She has supported and led research efforts, served in a TA capacity, developed analyses impacting institutional optimization efforts, led large-scale data governance projects, and headed online higher education innovation initiatives.
Rachel is a proud graduate of New College of Florida, where her academics and research were focused on cognitive and computer sciences.
